4 steps for simple daily skincare :

Having a good morning and night time routine is very very important. you cant just follow a good morning routine but leave your skin dirty and unhygienic the entire night. so you have to pay importance to both. lets begin with the morning routine for all skin types, and follow up with a soothing night routine.

The first most step to begin with is cleansing away all the dirt lingering on your skin. ah nothing beats a freshly clean face (i’m not crazy, i just love being clean hihi) . Now, you have to choose a cleanser that works for you, which keeps your skin hydrated and helps if your skin has any particular problems( like acne prone, sensitivity, etc) .

For oily and combination skintype, you need to get product with certain ingredients like salicylic acid, Niacinamide, Hyaluronic acid, Tea tree oil, etc. you need products that wont strip away the natural oil of your face and are gentle on application.

For dry skin types, the ingredients you need to check for are glycerin, hyaluronic acid, moisturizing oils, etc. basically something that will leave your skin feeling moisturized and smooth, not like a dried wall crack.

i personally have combination skin type. and recently you’ve seen the bloom of Cetaphil cleanser. so i went with the crowd to get the same gentle skin cleanser of Cetaphil. and might i say it works really well for the hydration part but the cleansing is.. ah gentle(iykyk). But i’m willing to try a differrent cleanser of cetaphil and see if it works better.

i’d recommend you to read the ingredients of a specific product before buying (do not make mistakes like me) and then give it a try! who knows it might be “that product” for your entire life!

2. MOISTURIZER:

After you finish cleansing your face. pat dry your skin, do not rub it harshly (be gentle please). and leave your skin a little damp, not dripping just slightly wet. then, you choose a light moisturizer for your face. and yes check the ingredients as well if they are suitable for your skin or not. it should be soothing and hydrating with good safe ingredients. Always apply moisturizer on damp skin for better absorption of the product.

some of my personal favorites are nivea soft light moisturizer, plum green tea-oil free moisturizer (Its all non-sponsored ofc). you can try these or stick to what works best for you.

3. FACIAL OIL:

I’m not sure how aware you are of facial oils, but they are game changers. there are various types of oils available and all of them have their own benfits. application of facial oil is always done after using a light moisturizer. it has so many advantages like creating a skin barrier, locking the hydration, acne healing, anti inflammatory, and ofc the glowy outlook!

lets go through the benefits of a few oils:

1. Argan oil: its very hydrating , nourishes your skin and gives you really smooth skin

2. rosehip oil: best for acne healing, brightening, clearing dark spots

3. rosemary oil: anti-inflammatory, helps acne (It needs to be diluted in 1:10 ratio with a carrier oil before use, meaning 1 drop of rosemary oil to 10 drops of carrier oil.

4. tea tree oil: works brilliant for acne spot treatment and skin infections

The list goes on with grapeseed oil, jojoba oil, etc. decide what you need the most for your skin at the moment and choose a facial oil accordingly.

4. SUNSCREEN:

APPLY THE DAMN SUNSCREEN! its a sin to commit if you skip this most important part of your daily routine. i’m sure you’ve heard words like this before but allow me to tell you the actual reason of applying sunscreen.

It saves your skin from the harsh UV rays from the sunlight, eventually protecting you from skin cancer and tanning or allergies if the skin is sun sensitive. Its also important to apply sunscreen even when you’re at home or its a cloudy day cause sunscreen also protects your face from the blue light you receive by using that damn phone all day. blue light have similar effect to UV light.

Sunscreen is the final process of this simple 4 step skincare routine. You do not require to use it for night routine as there is no UV ray to protect from at that time.

And now, you don’t have to stress more about what skincare to follow. While this is the most basic routine, you can additionally use toners, serums as well according to your liking. but i say keep it simple and basic with just 4 to 5 products max. Less is more.

Night-time skincare:

The steps for night-time skincare is same as morning one, except, the sunscreen part. Doing your night routine religiously will help your skin look and feel incredible. make sure to never skip this routine thinking you’re just gonna sleep now, what’s the need to apply products at night! It is very necessary that you provide your skin the nourishment before passing out for hours. lets go through the steps for a basic night routine!

1. CLEANSER:

Use your favorite cleanser to cleanse your face off all the dirt and pollution throughout the day. this is the first most step of your routine before you go for any other products. make that beautiful face of yours all clean and hygienic so we can move on to the further steps.

2. MOISTURIZER:

Apply a soft moisturizer on your face to hydrate your skin. Also make sure to apply it on damp skin to absorb it better.

3. FACIAL OIL (optional):

Its optional but helpful for your skin to rejuvenate overnight. you can never go wrong if you apply a few drops of any facial oil of your liking and leave it as an overnight treatment. you’ll definitely feel the difference next morning. It will help lock the moisture and all the benefits i mentioned above(in morning routine).

4. LIP CARE:

Do make sure to hydrate your lips before sleeping as well. you can use any petroleum jelly based lip balm, shea butter based ones, or any that works best for you. lets just stay away from having dry and chipped lips!

Additional tips:

Now you’ve read the daily skincare routine and do follow it sincerely. Here’s some additional tips to even better your skin.

Weekly facial packs will do wonders for your skin as they will deep cleanse your face, provide hydration, glow and also give you spa feeling at home lmao! you can make face packs at home or get from outside as well, also you can try the hydrating sheet masks available!

Using facial packs once or twice a week is very beneficial.

SCRUBS:

As you’ll be using products daily on your face, its necessary to exfoliate to prevent product buildup. once a week exfoliation with any scrub you like, homemade scrubs work amazing as well. you don’t need to spend money all the time (unless you have a lot, then go for it and contribute to our economy) but make use of some ingredients already available to you.

BEAUTY DRINKS:

Just working on the outer skin might give you significant results , but detoxifying your skin from inside will give you brilliant results. there are many beauty drinks you can consume everyday for your skin health, gut health, etc. They help remove all the toxins from your body and better your skin from within.

what you consume matters. eating junk, processed food would definitely show on your skin as acne breakouts. so you gotta be mindful of what you’re eating. healthy food will undoubtedly give you a healthier skin.

foods like carrots, leafy vegetables, citrus fruits, veggies and fruits in general, switching up dairy chocolates with dark chocolate will be considerate choice for a good diet.

when you start taking care of what food you give your body, your body will start caring for you too.
